| Outdoor Skills Emergency Preparedness
This is an Eagle Required merit badge. Scouts will learn about emergency situations and how to properly react in them. First Aid merit badge is required to earn this badge. Scouts must build and bring a personal Emergency Kit.
Fire Safety
Scouts will learn about safe handing of fire and will take a tour of the local fire station during this badge.
First Aid
This is an Eagle Required merit badge. Scouts will learn how to care for both minor and major injuries. Scouts must build and bring a personal First Aid Kit.
Camping
This is an Eagle Required merit badge. Scouts will not complete this badge in camp unless they have spent the required number of nights camping.
Cooking
Scouts will learn how to properly handle and cook food in many different situations. Scouts will not complete this badge without having cooked on multiple troop campouts.
Orienteering
Scouts will learn about traditional map and compass orienteering to find their way, as well as competitive orienteering and finding their directions without any other navigational aids.
Pioneering
Scouts will learn how to use ropes and lashings to build useful camp
gadgets and towers. Scouts should
be at least a First Class Scout to
take this badge.
Wilderness Survival
Scouts will learn to survive with
just their wits and a pocket knife
in the rugged wilderness. Scouts
should be at least First Class and
should come prepared to hike and
camp overnight.
Paul Bunyan Award
This is an award, not a merit badge.
Scouts will learn the use of woods
tools in trail building and conservation
projects as well as how to teach
totin chip. |
