Slippery Falls Scout Ranch - What to Bring to Camp (& What NOT to Bring)

Other than some basic items, different people and units will bring different items with them.

As you plan your packing for camp, a good exercise is to think about your perfect week at camp and bring items that you see in your mental picture.  If you want to spend the week fishing, don’t forget your fishing rod and tackle box.  To help you keep from forgetting the important items, below are suggestions for what you should bring to camp, and a list of items which Scouts and Leaders should NOT bring to camp.

Items NOT TO BRING To Camp

bows are not allowed in camp; only those supplied by the shooting sports area are to be used. Sheath knives are not allowed at camp as well. Any such equipment brought to camp must be delivered to the camp director when the unit checks in. It will be returned when the unit checks out.
No pets of any kind, with the exception of special use animals are allowed in camp. Fireworks are not allowed by BSA Policy.
We recommend that scouts do not bring radios, tape/cd/mp3 players, electronic games, cell phones, pagers, and other electronic devices to camp, as this can disrupt both the scout’s camping experience and the camping experience of others. Summer Camp is an outdoor experience.
Bikes cannot be ridden in camp except during the mountain biking program. All bike riders must wear a helmet. No ATV’s in camp.
